Service Dog

Me with Sam; a very good friend and sorority sister!

Sam Durain is a vibrant twenty-two year old young women who loves being outside, joking with friends and smiling. All of this glorious life is a struggle for Sam.

For half of her life she has been struggling with PTSD, borderline personality disorder, panic and anxiety disorders, bipolar and major depression.  She has been in and out of the hospital many times even on holidays and on her birthdays.

198209_1890812435820_3009189_nSam is wanting to go back to college to major in American Sign Language, she is hoping to become a translator and work in the hospital system.  But with her agoraphobia she struggles to leave her house by herself or at all.

There has been a breakthrough in Sam’s treatment, her therapist and doctors feel that a service dog will be a sustainable tool for Sam. The service dog will help her with her panic and anxiety attacks, her agoraphobia and wake her up from nightmares. The service dog will help Sam lead into the life she wants to lead.

A beautiful lab retriever mix and an excited trainer are waiting on Sam to help her in whatever way possible. Every penny donated will get Sam closer to the goal of getting a helping paw.
